Select's new website was built on the Shopify platform using a modified theme. The website serves both retail and trade customers, and allows business users to log in to access customer-specific pricing. It was important to create a website that will scale along with Select's growing catalogue and customer base, and that's easy to manage in the CMS. Shopify offered both of these advantages.
Integrating new B2B functionality was the biggest part of the project. For trade customers, signing up for an online account is easy, and clearly signposted on the site. We followed the launch with walkthrough videos and mailers that would guide old trade users to the site to sign up and take advantage of the new functionality.
Once signed in to their account, trade users are able to access their trade discount across the entire catalogue, and have their discount applied at the checkout. Previously, they were only able to place orders by phone or email. Using a third party app, we made it easy for the Select team to manage trade accounts and trade prices in the CMS.
A priority for us was to ensure the new website did an even better job of showcasing Select's product catalogue to both retail and trade customers. Featuring tons of product photography taken by us in our studio, as well as in-situ photography supplied by installers, the website acts as a beautiful gallery of products as well as being a functional ecommerce store.
